HUBUNGAN KONSUMSI MAKANAN JAJANAN DAN AKTIVITAS SEDENTARI TERHADAP KEJADIAN OVERWEIGHT PADA REMAJA KELAS XI SMAN 1 TAPUNG HILIR

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of overweight is caused by several factors such as consumption of snack and physical activity especially sedentary activity with significanty lead to an increase in cases of overweight, not only in adult but adolescents who live in developed and developing countries. The aim of this research was to analyze the correlation consumption of snack and sedentary activity on the adolescents overweight in class XI SMAN 1 Tapung Hilir. This research was conducted in SMAN 1 Tapung Hilir, Bangun Town Village, Kampar Regency from January to March 2023. The research design used a cross-sectional study. The sample of this research was 52 people who were students of class XI SMAN 1 Tapung Hilir. The descriptive results showed that the respondents in this research had underweight 11,5%, normal status 61,5%, overweight 23% and obesity 4%. Food recall test showed that high consumption of snack was 84,6% and low 15,4%. FFQ test showed that 59,6% respondents had more often ate snack and 40,4% rarely. Besides that, high sedentary activity was 59,6% and moderate was 40,4%. The results of Chi-square test showed that there was no significant correlation between intake of snack with overweight (p>0,05). In addition, there was a significant correlation between frequency of snack and sedentary activity with overweight (p<0,05).
